Windows

Check the download first

Open PowerShell in the download folder and run the line below. Install only if the Hash it prints equals the SHA-256 above (case does not matter); if it does not, delete the installer, do not run it, and tell us.

Get-FileHash .\automm-0.1.6-setup.exe -Algorithm SHA256

Install

  1. Double-click the installer. It is not code-signed yet, so Windows may show “Windows protected your PC” (SmartScreen): click More info, then Run anyway.
  2. Windows 11 with Smart App Control on blocks the installer outright, with no Run anyway. Turn it off first under Settings → Privacy & security → Windows Security → App & browser control → Smart App Control settings, then run the installer. On some versions of Windows it cannot be turned back on without resetting the system.
  3. It installs for the current user only and needs no administrator rights. If an antivirus stops it, check the SHA-256 above first and allow it only if it matches.

Once installed

macOS (Apple silicon)

Check the download first

Open Terminal and run the line below (with the file's own path if it is not in Downloads). Open it only if the string it starts with equals the SHA-256 above; if it does not, delete it, do not open it, and tell us.

shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/automm-0.1.6-mac-arm64.dmg

Install and open it the first time

  1. For Macs with Apple silicon (M1 or later) and macOS 13 or later; it does not run on a Mac with an Intel processor.
  2. Double-click the downloaded DMG and drag automm onto the Applications folder in the window that opens. You can then eject the disk image and delete the DMG.
  3. Double-click automm in Applications. The internal test version is not yet signed and notarized by Apple, so macOS says it could not verify the app and does not open it: click Done, not Move to Trash.
  4. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and scroll down to Security, where it says automm was blocked: click Open Anyway, then Open Anyway again in the dialog, and enter this Mac's login password (or use Touch ID). Only the first time; after that it opens like any app.
